MADONNA VIRUS ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some may argue that Madonna herself is a virus, but I'm not here to
talk about that. The Sunday Mirror (March 7th 1993) carried a story about
her book, well.... it was actually the pictures from her book "Sex".
Schoolchildren have, apparently, illegally copying the "shocking"
pictures from the book. The Mirror report that the pictures are available
on disk "for viewing on a TV or monitor screen"......wow.... aren't they
clever (I'm being sarcastic if anyone hadn't realised !!!!)
I wonder how many of these disks are being distributed as PD ?!
But, according to the paper, a "damaging high tech disease" is lurking
among the pictures. The magazine Virus News International (has anyone
heard of this mag ?) says that the rogue virus has yet to be identified
- but it could cripple businesses by copying itself onto their computer
systems and wiping out vital information.
Probably a PC originated virus - but how many schoolchildren
own PC's ? Yes - It's another one of those stories that has been blown
WELL out of proportion. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a marketting
plan to sell more books.
What a crap headline "Madonna virus hits wizz kids".....if these
"kids" were as good as suggested, they could easily wipe out this virus.
For another crap headline, read the "Computer Bomb?" article.
